This Objective mobilizes diverse partners to help public sector actors identify where their natural resource assets and opportunities lie. This Objective also evaluates policy options and catalyzes strategic action to support and scale up ecoagriculture and PES. Actions include:

  • capacity building to support the integration of ecoagriculture and PES objectives into national and international policy frameworks
  • evaluating contradictions and promoting coordination in regulations and policies across government departments and public sector actors, focusing on agriculture, conservation and rural development
  • bringing together partners to track key international and national policy issues and processes
  • developing ‘policy toolkits’ for the promotion of ecoagriculture landscape management and payments for ecosystem services at local, national and international levels
  • increasing clarity on the legal, fiscal, contractual and administrative obligations faced by PES suppliers and buyers engaging in private contracts and transactions
